Kaiser Permanente’s Employees Contribute to Wholesome Wave
When it comes to health insurance companies very few walk the walk like Kaiser Permanente. KP joined forces with Wholesome Wave this year to help community members across the United States improve their diet by making it easier and more affordable to buy locally grown and healthful fruits and vegetables. A generous grant from Kaiser helped us launch programs in several new states and deepen our work throughout the United States.
We are once again honored that KP has committed to continuing its partnership with Wholesome Wave. KP employees have the opportunity to give to Wholesome Wave, by simply taking a survey. Kaiser Permanente is donating $50 on behalf of each employee who takes the survey and employees choose to donate to either Wholesome Wave or the National Assembly of School-Based Healthcare.
Our CEO and Founder, Michel Nischan, is featured in a recent Kaiser Permanente video that describes the employee contributions program.
While speaking from one of our partner markets, the 32nd St Farmers Market in Baltimore, MD’s Waverly neighborhood, Michel said:
“One of the things we love about our partnership with Kaiser Permanente is the way they believe in making the right choice, the easy choice. So when we look at our premise of making healthy food affordable, we believe affordability makes the right choice, the easy choice.”
“Everybody wants to feed their family. Everybody wants to do the right thing for their family; not everyone can afford to make that choice. You allow that to happen; business happens, commerce happens, deliciousness happens.”
