Chef Acheson May “Raze” an Eyebrow for Wholesome Wave!

Hugh Acheson, a longtime friend of Wholesome Wave and critically acclaimed Chef/Owner of three restaurants in Georgia, is once again helping to put healthful food on the tables of those in need. Hugh’s dedication to Wholesome Wave’s mission is apparent in his latest fundraising endeavor to raise $100,000. He is urging fans, viewers and foodies alike to donate what ever amount they can to Wholesome Wave. If he reaches his $100,000 goal by March 1st, Chef Hugh says he will pluck his famous unibrow.

In early 2011, Hugh selected Wholesome Wave as his charitable non-profit partner on the popular Bravo series, Top Chef Masters. There he competed for the chance to win Wholesome Wave a large monetary prize, donated by Bravo upon his winning. Although the stars did not align for him on Top Chef Masters (Hugh was asked to pack his knives and leave), he still earned Wholesome Wave $15,000 after winning a Quick Fire Challenge dish and a earning a parting gift, that we used to partially fund our flagship Double Value Coupon Program for our Atlanta based partners, Wholesome Wave Georgia.

This time, Hugh is bravely putting his eyebrows (or unibrow) in the hands of his fans; fans who have been talking about this notable feature since he came on to the food scene. To donate to Wholesome Wave and to see Hugh leave his uni-brow days’ behind, follow the link on our Donate Today  page, located in the right hand corner of our website (in the apple!). Please write the word EYEBROW in the comments portion of the PayPal checkout form, so we can correctly track all ‘Hughnibrow’ contributions! While Hugh hopes to raise $100,000 in individual donations, any amount helps us nourish neighborhoods and gets Hugh closer to his goal!

We are thrilled Hugh is once again joining us to change the landscape of our food system. We’ve been able to make great strides in program implementation across the United States and has successfully measured the program outcomes. With the help of our on the ground partners, funders, stakeholders and friends like Hugh, we’re able to grow and deepen our work to foster the relationship between local producers and people in need.
